What is "fruit cup"?

A fruit cup is a serving of fresh fruit that has been cut into bite-sized pieces and served in a cup or bowl. Unlike fruit cocktail, which is typically made with canned fruit and a sweet syrup or juice, fruit cups are made with fresh fruit and may or may not be accompanied by a dressing or sauce.
